the years are all flexible! this is just a general timeline for serena’s canon events. they could take place in the 2000’s or in the 80’s/90’s, or even further in the past, it doesn’t matter! this is just the overall timeline of things that shape her story.

oooANCESTRYooo ooo the carlisle’s flee france during the revolution, nobles who were displaced and disgraced. they establish themselves into the u.s. as political figures – senators, diplomats, and cultural patrons. the first whispers of a curse occur – when a baby girl vanishes. then, not long after, another woman dies in childbirth. the carlisles rise in power and influence, establishing a compound to be their seat of power in fairharbor, rhode island. the whispers of the curse turn to shouting through tragic deaths, disappearances, and accidents.oooPRIOR TO SERENA'S BIRTHooo ooo serena’s father is julian carlisle, a man enrolled in politics as his grandfather instructed, but writing on the side as his true passion. he works in law. he marries a french wine heiress, emilia swain, and together they have august, then roderick (known by his middle name as masen).oooMARCH, AGE 0ooo ooo serena is born in march, at the rhode island estate, as the youngest of three children, to emilia and julian carlisle. she was a quiet baby, sensitive and observant.
oooAGES 0 - 3ooo ooo she is raised in rhode island, with her family still in tact. they are a tender family unit.
oooAGES 3 - 4ooo ooo she begins taking ballet classes from elite teachers brought in by emilia.
oooAGES 6ooo ooo her first televised ballet recital (local news). it’s the first introduction of serena as a prodigy.
oooAGE 7 - 10ooo ooo serena is an ill child, but works hard at learning and spends nearly all her time on ballet. she is well known by public figures who are friends of her parents, who enjoy her dancing. at ten, serena is sent to france in the care of her aunt gabrielle and uncle matteo. she enrolls in ecole de danse l’opera national de paris (paris opera ballet school).
oooAGE 10 - 13ooo ooo she focuses on both dancing and studying. she primarily lives alone in the dorms, but comes home to rhode island during the summer. periodically she would stay with her aunt and uncle, and visit her cousins lucie and olivier.
oooJULY, AGE 14ooo ooo during a summer walk with her father, he is killed in the street. he bleeds out in serena’s arms.
oooNOVEMBER, AGE 14ooo ooo emilia (serena’s mother) dies of heartbreak. serena stops coming home for the summer.
oooAGE 15 - 16ooo ooo serena focuses on ballet and school, and makes top grades. She graduates from the lower division of the paris opera ballet school and is accepted into the upper school, reserved for the most elite students. during her time at school, she faces harsh training, and develops her deep fatalism after the death of her father. her emotional restraint is also built during this period. she is mentored by many other elite ballet masters, taking an interest in her grief and beauty. around this time, the media begins to notice her.
oooAGE 17ooo ooo makes her first appearance in a featured soloist role in a minor production. her performance is praised for her expressiveness and tragic emotional quality. this is where she earns the nickname la derniere vraie ballerine, the last real ballerina. she performs many student lead roles in full-length ballets.
oooAGE 18ooo ooo serena is offered an extremely rare career jump, to skip the corps and is invited to first soloist, despite public outcry and jealousy from peers. her talent protects her. her debut role is giselle, as the title role. she earns another nickname this season, la jeune fantôme
oooAGES 19 - 22ooo ooo leads many roles across the classical repertoire in the opera. she guest stars in london, moscow, and new york, and performs at diplomatic and cultural events representing france.
oooAGES 23 - 24ooo ooo she is promoted to etoile (principal) just before her 24th birthday after a modern - classic performance of giselle. she becomes the subject of vogue features, dance world articles, and documentaries. she never gives too much away, and is very protective of her privacy. interviews are rare, and only for select publications and interviewers.
oooAGES 25 - 26, PRESENT DAYooo ooo serena still guests internationally with other ballet companies (american ballet theatre, royal ballet, bolshoi). she has joined the board of carlisle holdings, the main branch of her family's company.

aged 13-17, when serena is attending the paris opera ballet school. she lives in the dormitories in paris, and spends most of her days practicing. after the death of her father at 14, she stops coming home to america until she turns nineteen, when she does a guest spot at the abt theatre in nyc.

anything that fits in her main verse; a modern setting that can include supernatural aspects, anything! serena spends most of her time in paris, but can be reasonably anywhere.

FAN TIMELINES

carlisle holdings was business partners with vought in the past when serena's grandfather was head of the business. but then her father took over, and distanced himself. august, now in charge after their father's assassination, believes vought to be the reason their father was killed, and cut all ties with them ; leaving serena somewhere in the middle, terrified of vought's reign and what might happen next. serena isn't a supe in her main verse.

oooJURASSIC WORLDooo ooo ˖ . ݁𝜗𝜚. ݁₊ ooo sunlight teeth .

( with monstyrious 𖹭.ᐟ )oooin order to gain more attention before the opening of their new exhibit, jurassic world invites a handful of celebrities to come stay and perform. though she knows nothing about dinosaurs, serena comes for the excitement of something new... and gets caught up in the crowd when the dinosaurs are all loose.
